Welcome to show # 6 of The Afterglow! More cool vibes and classic beats for you to enjoy. Highlights of the show include the stellar work of Jazzanova on their remix of the Status IV classic, “You Ain’t Really Down”. It’s mostly a dub version with samples from the end of the a capella. I took the liberty of mixing in the verses and the chorus from the a capella version that I have. I hope they don’t mind me adding my two cents to their work
Another remix from my favorite jazz band – The Jazzinvaders – concludes phase 1. The DJ mix consists of downtempo breaks flowing into some chilled house tunes and is a bit longer than usual this time out (63 min.). I guess I was just feelin’ it, plus it includes several tracks that I have been wanting to find room to play on the show. Highlights in the mix include classic beats from Mr. Gone, dZihan and Kamien, Mr. Scruff and Down To The Bone. And finally, phase 3 is highlighted by soulful tunes from Gaelle and Tamia.
So, once again, whether you’re enjoying this at work, in the car, at the gym or at home…
